III. Service communications. We may use your contact information to send account notices, security alerts, requested support communications, and material updates concerning the Service or this Privacy Policy.
Article 3 — AI-Assisted Processing
I. How AI is used. The Service may use artificial intelligence and other automated technologies to analyze uploaded documents and user-provided information, extract data, organize financial information, identify possible categories, and create outputs for you.
II. AI can make mistakes. Automated systems may misread documents, overlook information, duplicate entries, place information in the wrong category, or produce incomplete or inaccurate results.
III. You must verify outputs. You should compare every output against your original documents and other reliable information before relying on it. A result is not necessarily correct because it appears specific, personalized, confident, or complete.
IV. Service Providers. AI, hosting, storage, security, analytics, customer-support, and document-processing providers may process information on our behalf as reasonably necessary to provide or support the Service. By accessing or using the Service and agreeing to this Privacy Policy and the User Agreement, you consent to our disclosure of your personal information and uploaded documents to those service providers for that processing.
We use commercially reasonable efforts to select service providers whose privacy and security practices are generally consistent with ours. We do not control those providers and cannot guarantee their conduct, systems, confidentiality, security, data handling, retention practices, or compliance with their stated practices or with practices generally consistent with ours. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bankruptcy Buddy is not responsible or liable for their acts or omissions.
Article 4 — When We Disclose Information
I. No sale of personal information. We do not sell your personal information.
II. No advertising disclosure. We do not disclose your personal information to third parties for their independent advertising or marketing purposes.
III. Consent and User Direction. By accessing or using the Service and agreeing to this Privacy Policy and the User Agreement, you consent to our disclosure of your personal information and uploaded documents to third-party service providers that process information on our behalf as reasonably necessary to provide and support the Service. We may also disclose information when you separately consent to or direct the disclosure, including when you ask us to send, export, or make information available to a person or service you select.
IV. Service Providers. We may disclose information to contractors and service providers that perform functions on our behalf, including hosting, data storage, artificial-intelligence processing, document analysis, account administration, customer support, analytics, and cybersecurity. We use commercially reasonable efforts to select service providers whose privacy and security practices are generally consistent with ours.
We do not control those providers and cannot guarantee their conduct, systems, confidentiality, security, data handling, retention practices, availability, or compliance with their stated practices or with practices generally consistent with ours. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bankruptcy Buddy is not responsible or liable for their acts or omissions, including any unauthorized access, use, retention, loss, or disclosure of information by a service provider.
V. Legal compliance. We may disclose information when we reasonably believe disclosure is required by applicable law, legal process, court order, or a valid governmental request.
VI. Security and protection. We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to:

VII. Business transfers. If Bankruptcy Buddy is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or similar transaction, information may be reviewed or transferred as part of that transaction. Any recipient will be subject to appropriate confidentiality protections and any restrictions imposed by applicable law and this Privacy Policy.
VIII. Deidentified information. We may use or disclose information that has been aggregated or deidentified so that it cannot reasonably be associated with you. We will not attempt to reidentify that information except to test whether our deidentification measures are effective.

C. passwords, personal identification numbers, and security answers;
D. full birth dates;
E. driver’s-license, passport, and other government-identification numbers;
F. medical information; and
G. other sensitive personal information that is not necessary for the requested output.
II. Your responsibility. You are responsible for reviewing documents before uploading them and determining whether they contain unnecessary personal information concerning you or another person.
III. Information about others. You may submit another person’s information only if you have the legal right and authority to do so.
Article 6 — No Attorney-Client Privilege
I. No professional relationship. Bankruptcy Buddy is not a law firm, accounting firm, financial-advisory firm, credit-counseling agency, or government agency. Submitting information to the Service does not create an attorney-client, accountant-client, fiduciary, or other professional relationship.
II. No privilege. Information submitted to Bankruptcy Buddy is not protected by attorney-client privilege merely because it concerns bankruptcy or is submitted through the Service. Do not use the Service to communicate with an attorney or to store information that you expect to be protected as a privileged attorney-client communication.

Information may also remain temporarily in restricted backups until those backups are overwritten or deleted through our ordinary retention process.
IV. Your records. Bankruptcy Buddy is not a permanent records-storage service. Keep your original documents and independent copies of any outputs you wish to preserve.
Article 8 — Security
I. Safeguards. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, and disclosure.
II. No system is perfect. No website, AI system, storage system, or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You provide information and upload documents with that limitation in mind.
III. Account security. You are responsible for protecting your login credentials and devices. Notify us promptly at hello@bankruptcy-buddy.com if you believe your account or information has been accessed without authorization.
IV. Security incidents. If we identify a security incident affecting your personal information, we will investigate and provide any notice required by applicable law.
Article 9 — Your Choices and Privacy Requests
I. Review and correction. You may review and update certain account information through the Service. You should also correct inaccurate information in your inputs and verify AI-generated outputs against the original source documents.
II. Privacy requests. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of certain personal information. You may submit a request at hello@bankruptcy-buddy.com.
III. Identity verification. We may request information reasonably necessary to verify your identity and protect your account before completing a privacy request.
IV. Authorized requests. If another person submits a request on your behalf, we may require proof that the person is authorized to act for you and may separately confirm the request with you.
V. No discrimination. We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.
VI. Communications. You may opt out of optional promotional communications by following the instructions provided in the communication or contacting us. You may continue to receive necessary account, transactional, legal, and security notices.
Article 10 — Children
I. Adults only. The Service is intended only for individuals who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
II. Removal requests. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted personal information through the Service, contact us at hello@bankruptcy-buddy.com. We will take reasonable steps to investigate and delete the information when appropriate.
Article 11 — Third-Party Services
I. Service Providers. The Service relies on third-party providers for hosting, storage, security, analytics, customer support, artificial-intelligence processing, document processing, and other operational functions. By accessing or using the Service and agreeing to this Privacy Policy and the User Agreement, you consent to our disclosure of your personal information and uploaded documents to those providers for processing on our behalf as reasonably necessary to provide and support the Service.
We use commercially reasonable efforts to select service providers whose privacy and security practices are generally consistent with ours. We do not control them and cannot guarantee their conduct, systems, confidentiality, security, data handling, retention practices, outputs, or compliance with their stated practices or with practices generally consistent with ours. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bankruptcy Buddy is not responsible or liable for their acts or omissions, and you agree that Bankruptcy Buddy will not be liable for any loss, cost, or damage arising from them.
II. Independent Third Parties Selected by You. The Service may allow you to interact with or direct information to an independent third-party service. When you direct us to provide information to an independent third party, you consent to that disclosure. Once the information is provided at your direction, that third party’s privacy practices govern its handling of the information. Bankruptcy Buddy does not control or guarantee the privacy, confidentiality, security, conduct, or data-handling practices of independent third parties and, to the fullest extent permitted by law, is not responsible or liable for their acts or omissions.
