Using Buddy

Your first document. A place to start.

Start with one paper, not a perfect folder. Then check what the workspace finds.

Start with a document you can check

You do not need to organize every paper before trying the workspace. Start with one PDF, a photo of a printed letter, or a supported Word or text file. The current limit is 25 MB per document.

The workspace is in beta. On the public site, you can explore how it works before public workspace access opens.

Reading happens on your device

The document reader looks for text and possible details such as names, amounts, and dates. Supported scanned pages use local optical character recognition, often called OCR.

A difficult scan may produce mistakes or no useful text. Handwriting, shadows, and unusual layouts need particular care. Keep the original and check it yourself.

Keep only what you have checked

Open each suggested detail beside its source. Correct it if necessary, choose where it belongs, and decide whether to keep it. Nothing is preselected for you.

A date found in a notice is not a calculated legal deadline. A suggested amount is not a legal conclusion about a debt. The workspace organizes the information you confirm.

Come back without starting over

Your papers and checked details stay together in this browser. Return to a topic to add or correct information, or open your summary to review what you have entered.

Browser storage is not a backup. Keep your original documents and download a backup of work you need to retain.
